Dedicated to enhancing regional preparedness and response to disaster
"As a local Emergency Manager, I found the resources of the NSPA extremely valuable. During a community wide disaster that affects the Roanoke Valley there is likely going to be other effects throughout the region which may limit resources available to Emergency Responders and area hospitals. Having a working relationship with NSPA prior to a disaster is critical. Knowing NSPA staff and the resource capabilities of the agency is important to insure emergency responders are able be continue to provide services when supplies, equipment and personnel may be limited."
"The initiates that NSPA does such as the tabletop exercise are very critical in my mind as far as going into an event weekend at Martinsville Speedway. Knowing the availability of beds and resources outside of our area. We go into our weekend feeling comfortable that we are ready for the unexpected. Take it from us at Martinsville Speedway, when we are planning a major event we use our healthcare coalition to give our healthcare workers the best chance for success."
"I have worked with NSPA since 2004. We have worked together on event planning, incident coordination, exercises, strategic planning, the Board of Directors, and a variety of training. I think in any incident or day-to-day work there are at least three important things to consider; relationships, resources, and communication. This coalition excels at delivering all three of these to this region, and always with excellence!"
