C.H.E.C Course January 2019

NSPA’s Training Center delivered our three-day Certified Hospital Emergency Coordinator (CHEC) course series last week to 15 of our valued coalition partners here in the region.  The class was made up of participants from area Hospitals, Long Term Care facilities, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Management.

The name of the class is a bit of a misnomer, as the course is designed not only for hospital emergency coordinators/managers, but for anyone who needs to have a better understanding of the emergency planning process as well as emergency management principles relating to the healthcare system.  Class participants learn a variety of concepts, principles, and best practices to give them the skills and knowledge to make critical decisions needed to reduce the potential threats to life and property at the healthcare facilities they are responsible for.  This is a comprehensive training program to help our members gain not only the tools- but greater confidence to lead their agency and/or facility through an emergency incident, event or an exercise.

A special thank you to each of our recent class participants/attendees.  Your dedication and commitment to enhancing your individual knowledge base adds significant value to the preparedness, response capabilities  and resiliency of not only your respective facility/agency, but to our entire region, as a whole! Your contributions to the classroom discussions were greatly appreciated!

If anyone was interested in attending but missed out on this important training opportunity, we invite all of our members to consider attending a future course offering.  We are committed to making this CHEC course series available to our stakeholders at least once each budget period.  Please see our Training Center section of the website or contact Monica McCullough for any additional information.
