Happy New Year!

It's a fresh start, a new beginning, and we wanted to share some NSPA partner achievements with you!

Nancy Harms, Director of Quality Improvement at the Virginia Veterans Care Center (VVCC) was recently nominated as a Point Click Care Champion. Point Click Care (PCC) is the Electronic Medical Record system VVCC uses for patient care. Harms is one of 15 users from across the US and Canada that was selected for this program. These individuals are "super users" of the system and are responsible for coordinating, configuring and implementing new modules and training staff. She also serves as a PCC liaison between many other organization networks including the State Veteran Home facilities.

Jonathan Simmons, All-Hazards Planner for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management was promoted at the end of last year to the Disaster Response and Recovery Officer position. This role mainly focuses on readiness and response to incidents of all-hazard types in the region. Simmons will not only assist regional staff with plans, training, and exercises but he will also become the point of contact for State and Federal recovery efforts!
