Coalition Workgroups
This year healthcare coalition growth will center around workgroups. Stemming from a discussion in previous coalition meetings, it was recognized that many organizations have similar requirements and are seeking an opportunity to further collaborate for the sake of regional preparedness.
NSPA has established four different workgroups so far. Take a look at each group and decide if you would be interested in participating:
Exercise Workgroup: a group focused on collaboration with other partners / facilities on exercise planning, development and delivery that will meet everyone’s respective objectives and needs. This group will discuss strategies, work through challenges related to exercises, and develop a calendar that will be mutually beneficial region wide.

Pediatric Disaster Workgroup: a group committed to developing a Pediatric Annex to the Pediatric response in the region. This group will focus on the vulnerable population and address gaps and areas on how to become more prepared to address the pediatric population.

Medical Intelligence Committee: a group comprised of Physicians within the Region, providing clinical insight to the entire healthcare emergency preparedness program.

Infection Control Workgroup: a group comprised of infection control specialists, public health personnel, and epidemiologists who can advise region on preparedness practices as well as provide situational awareness on communicable diseases within the region.

Working together with fellow NSPA members will enhance the value you get from the Coalition. These are your work groups and we want to empower you to get involved with the preparedness efforts on a regional level. These groups will allow you to reach the goals you and your Organization have with a community-focused, driven committee behind you.
