It’s A New Year at NSPA

Each July starts a new year here at the Coalition. Pandemic aside it can usually be busier than normal due to grant deadlines and tying up loose ends. This year has proven to be just that which is why I am just now getting around to this post at the end of the month! Nevertheless, we have some exciting things planned for our partners this year that I wanted to share with you. Our theme for this year is "Rethinking Continuity."

Most of what we will be doing this year will center around that subject. What does continuity mean to your organization? Have you established any business continuity plans? Although not a new term in emergency preparedness it is a relatively new term in healthcare. And we felt that integrating these plans into your Organization during our current climate of COVID-19 would be less overwhelming and more helpful to your response.

Normally we would have a training schedule already outlined for you that is jam-packed with healthcare emergency preparedness courses and education. But instead, we are going to be going with the flow and working with each of you on your specific needs. This will help us get a better understanding of where you are at with your response and better prepare the region as a whole. You can, however, look forward to NEW Memorandums of Understanding and Letters of Support coming out soon, as well as BRAND NEW training opportunities for our Region.

Lastly, from all of us at NSPA we want to thank you for your continued effort and support to your patients, communities, and partners. You're doing a tremendous job, keep going!
