Drill: POSTPONED
RICHMOND — Due to the State of Emergency declared for the coronavirus (COVID-19) response, the National weather Service and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management have postponed the 2020 Virginia Statewide Tornado Drill that was previously scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at 9:45 a.m. The National Weather Service and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management will work with affected stakeholders to re-schedule the 2020 tornado drill at a later point to come.

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) & The National Weather Service (NWS) released information last month regarding their 2020 Statewide Tornado Drill set for Tuesday, March 17th (see press release below). This is open to any organization to participate in. If you are interested in using this opportunity to Exercise your plans, NSPA will be hosting a brief planning meeting on Monday, March 9th. We will be discussing Exercise details and how healthcare entities can use this opportunity to potentially meet CMS requirements.
